Computer Overhauls Warranty Policy

Computer Overhauls provides a minimum one-year hardware warranty on all computers. If an Apple, Lenovo, HP, or Microsoft item has an existing manufacturer’s warranty, it will remain valid. Computer Overhauls will also provide a full one-year warranty from the date of purchase that runs concurrently with any remaining manufacturer’s warranty specifically for these brands. Computer Overhauls is NOT an authorized reseller for any brand.

For all other brands, including but not limited to Dell, Alienware, Razer, Toshiba, Sony, Canon, Nikon, Leica, Nvidia, Asus, and Acer, manufacturer warranties are not transferable. For these brands, the Computer Overhauls one-year warranty will apply.

Optional 3-year accidental damage warranties are available and are provided by Consumer Priority Service (CPS).

For all other items we sell, Computer Overhauls provides a 90-day warranty.

The Computer Overhauls warranty covers normal hardware failure. BATTERIES ARE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AS THEY ARE CONSUMABLE. Examples of covered issues include failed hard drives, dead motherboards, and optical drive failures. The warranty does not cover accidental damage such as broken screens or hinges, liquid damage, theft, or fire.

What is Covered: If you have added Accidental Coverage to your plan, as indicated on your Membership Card and your Online Account, this plan covers all normal hardware issues plus unintentional damages resulting from impact, liquid damage, or unintentional physical damage. Accidental Coverage protects against drops and spills. Accidental Coverage is typically offered as an option for MP3 players, laptops, GPS devices, cameras, and other portable electronics.

What is Not Covered: Accidental Coverage does not cover intentional damages of any kind to the covered product or losses due to theft. It does not cover willful damage, misuse, damage due to neglect, drops over 6 feet, fire damage, full immersion in water, or saltwater exposure. Accidental Coverage does not cover damage caused by using a product in a way the manufacturer never intended. It also does not cover damage incurred by natural disasters (e.g., hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, fires) or damage caused by an animal or pet (e.g., dog chewing). Coverage for this plan begins 30 days after the date of purchase of the warranty. Accidental Coverage must appear on the original bill of sale alongside the covered product and must be registered.

Refer to the details of the contract for the full list, but notable exclusions to your coverage include:

  • Accessories and consumer-replaceable parts (e.g., batteries, ink cartridges, lenses, cables, and other consumables).
  • Software issues, including software for computers, cell phones, etc.
  • Fraudulently misrepresented items.
