About Us

Computer Overhauls was founded in 2002 as a computer repair business. In 2010, we transitioned out of the repair market and expanded into electronics retail. Since then, Computer Overhauls has been featured in the NY Times, USA Today, Entrepreneur, Gizmodo & more. We were featured on the Inc 5000 fastest growing companies in America list for 2017, 2018 and 2019. As of 2024, Computer Overhauls is NYCs premier electronics retailer and although we no longer offer any repairs the company name, Computer Overhauls, stuck with us!

Where do these computers come from?

The vast majority of our inventory comes from businesses and schools that are either upgrading their IT assets or relocating offices. These items are pre-owned, fully functional devices that are mostly in excellent condition with minimal use.

Our Testing Process

We perform a rigorous 45-point test on every device. This isn't just some off the shelf testing either; we've been doing this for over twenty years and we've got testing dialed in. Everything from speakers and webcams to ensuring that gaming GPU is running at the right temperature. We have one of the lowest return rates in the industry which is proof that our testing procedures are rock solid.

Are these repaired items? No.

If during testing a device has functional issues like a broken screen, liquid damage or non-working ports it will be sent to our recycler. The only exception is the battery. If a device is fully functional but needs a battery replacement we will replace it. If this is the case, you'll see "New Battery'' mentioned in the item description. The vast majority of our items are simply pre-owned; never damage, never repaired.

Real Photos

We take photos of the actual devices that are being sold. We do not use stock images for any of the products we sell. Great lighting, every angle, high-resolution. While most other sites only show stock photos we know how important it is that customers can see the details of what they are buying.

Latest Windows Operating Systems

We are a licensed Microsoft authorized partner. All our PCs come with a fully licensed Windows 10 or Windows 11 operating system. Our computers will have the latest drivers installed ensuring secure and smooth operation. Your PC will be eligible to receive all future Windows updates.

Latest Mac Operating Systems

All our Macs will have the latest available operating systems installed. Each new macOS release typically includes improved security features and fixes for vulnerabilities discovered in previous versions. This helps keep your system and data more secure from various threats such as malware, viruses, and cyberattacks.

Warranty
All our computers come with a minimum one-year hardware warranty. We offer optional 3-year accidental damage warranties starting at just $29.

Buy In-Person Or Online

Everything on our website is available at our retail store in NYC. You can stop by to see any item in-person during store hours. Most online orders placed by 2PM ship same day.
